　　一个七岁小男孩，他最好的朋友是一把椅子。他每天带著这把椅子到学校去给老师坐。对一般家中无长物的孩子，他的地位很特殊。当他知道了原本以为在法国工作的父亲原来是一名政治犯之后，他的世界变了。导演有技巧地将喜感融入感伤通俗片中，有类似侯孝贤《悲情城市》般的企图，也看得出伊朗导演阿巴斯对本片的影响，但却是极端不同风格的电影。
