　　十七岁的玛利亚（卡特琳娜·格兰厄姆 Kat Graham 饰）刚刚被少管所释放，回到了故乡，在那里，她决定开始新的生活。某日，玛丽在机缘巧合之下来到了哈尼丹尼尔斯教授的舞蹈工作室，热爱跳舞的她很快就在那里找到了属于自己的舞台。 　　布兰顿（兰迪·韦恩 Randy Wayne 饰）注意到了隐藏在玛利亚身上的激情和天赋，于是邀请她和他一起训练HD舞蹈队。与此同时，玛利亚的前男友路易斯（Christopher 'War' Martinez 饰）回到了玛利亚的身边，亦向她抛出了橄榄枝，然而，玛利亚不希望重蹈覆辙，她拒绝了路易斯。在布兰顿和玛利亚的带领下，HD舞蹈队参加了电视舞蹈大赛，而将要同他们同台竞技的，恰恰是路易斯和他手下的队伍。
