　　泰德是一个摄影记者，在一次骇人的探险旅行中，他被一只半人半兽的动物咬伤，女友则不幸死亡。为了休养身心的伤痛，泰德到姐姐珍娜的家暂住，同时陪陪他疼爱的外甥布莱特。在泰德停留的日子里，发生接二连三的恐怖命案，珍娜并未将这些事与弟弟种种异常举动联想在一起，但已引起他们家的灵犬“雷神”（Thor）的警戒，深怕泰德会伤害珍娜和布莱特。不幸的是泰德的情况越来越严重，他的意志力已经无法控制，三番两次想加害珍娜母子，幸好都被忠心的“雷神”阻止，到底他们的命运会如何？
