　　中国功夫博大精深，在这部电影之前，大极拳未曾被搬上银幕。编剧倪匡一反常人以为太极拳只是强身健体的拳法，正式将它的攻击威力展现出来。年青工人顾定，是太极高手，被恶霸金大盛所欺，一直默默忍受，金又夺去他的爱人阿宝一命，他也忍辱负重，最后，师父和好友胡炳连都惨死他的利刃下，他忍无可忍，被逼出手。电影上映时，惹来一阵哄动，因男主角陈沃夫是太极高手，完成此片后，突然暴毙，太极拳成为他的最后遗作，令人惋惜。
